The best of the South West Tourist Industry are celebrating as the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2009-2010 come to an end for another year.

The awards night is the highlight of the tourism calendar; winners had to wait until the actual awards event on the 23 November at Saunton Sands Hotel, Devon to find out whether they had won a prestigious Gold or Silver tourism award.

A new, exciting showcase opportunity for the south west tourist industry is to be launched in January 2010 by Resort Marketing. Located at the southwest top exhibition venue, Westpoint Arena, Visit 2010 will offer destinations, attractions, activity providers and group accommodation businesses the chance to strut their stuff in front of an invited audience of teachers, group visit organisers, the travel trade, coach operators and travel journalists.

Resort Marketing Ltd is to publish a further edition of the popular Resort Magazine in 2010 for Southern Devon. This will bridge the gap between existing titles in Dorset and Cornwall and increase the effectiveness of cross border marketing opportunities for the tourist industry. The new Southern Devon title will have a 250,000 circulation and be available, like its sister publications in Dorset and Cornwall, in more than 1,000 outlets from Easter 2010.

This will bring the combined circulation in the south west to 700,000, reaching an estimated 3 million readers plus.

Resort Marketing is privileged to have handled the marketing of the 2009 Dorset Seafood Festival. This year's event attracted a huge crowd of both visitors and local people. The fact that the crowd stayed during a very wet Saturday was indicative of the quality of the event.
